Growing up in Kansas, I never would have dreamed the things I have experienced, and I am a firm believer that these moments in my life shape the person and designer that I am today. Raised in America, educated in London, and now based in the Netherlands, I have a multitude of professional and personal experiences that allow me to mix creativity with strategy in my design process.
My educational background instilled a curious and unexpected approach to problem-solving. Gaining my bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Westminster in London, I learned not only to create a distinct brand tone, but also began my formal introduction to graphic design and the Adobe world. This multimedia education allowed me to create mock magazine layouts, infographics, and other print/digital assets. Since obtaining my degree, I have continued learning new skills, software, and methods, creating a solid foundation to build upon my own design process.
For the past 2 years, I’ve built a diverse design portfolio by creating branding, marketing materials, and packaging designs for cafés and hospitality brands. With a background in hospitality, I naturally stepped into creative roles within those companies by designing menus, promotional content, and visual identities that helped bring each space’s personality to life.
Throughout my design process, I use my various educational backgrounds to hone in on one important task: making unconventional, unique, and unmissable brand identities. My favourite thing to do is telling stories, whether through design or other creative means, and I would love the opportunity to tell the story of your brand.
I used to think that not following the “right” path would ultimately be my downfall, but now, I know that it’s my strength. I have a unique perspective, a well-rounded experience, and a different approach that ensures your brand stands out from the competition.
